Elite Program
Chess Kids runs a Junior Training and Talent Recognition Program called “Chess Kids Elite” with the goal of fast-tracking those with a genuine desire to become champion players and reach top echelons of the chess world. The program also provides a social meeting place for like-minded individuals sharing a common interest. This system developed to ensure our most enthusiastic and promising juniors could easily progress to International standards. In 2004 a record 22 juniors represented Australia at the World Championships in Greece; where Raymond Song became the first Australian ever to finish first at World Under Age Championships. In 2005 we had 49 players endorsed to play in the Australian Junior Championship - the largest team ever! How can I be part of Chess Kids Elite? Only players who can prove themselves to be in the top 10% of chess players in their area qualify for this program. A player who earns a Certificate of Distinction in an Interschool Championships is automatically offered the opportunity to be part of this program. Your results in the Interschool Championships demonstrate your enthusiasm and natural talent for the game of chess. What is the cost of Chess Kids Elite? Being part of the Chess Kids Elite program is FREE. Events, coaching, camps and activities may attract a per-use fee. The very best players will be granted Chess Kids Elite scholarships; which can include free private tuition, master classes, subsidized entry to tournaments and other grants. Where do I sign up? |
